Capturing Nature Street Party | January 2023

The Museum expanded into surrounding streets with roaming giant Diprotodon puppets, activities for all ages, live music, prizes, and food and drink stalls. The Street Party was an open access, free community event that brought together over 3,000 people from the Tweed Shire, wider Northern Rivers area and Queensland. People of all ages attended, families, children, young adults, and seniors, and engaged in the wide variety of activities, entertainment, performances, and exhibitions on offer.

Participants enjoyed a dynamic program of activities that explored themes such as the environment, natural history, community and museology. Participants dropped into workshops with eco-warriors, artists, curators and animal experts, tackled a large-scale Adventure Game with our Museum Mates, Museum on Wheels, Museum exhibitions, and more.
