Keeping you safe during your visit

The Museum is pleased to welcome visitors to TRM Murwillumbah and TRM Tweed Heads once again. Measures have been introduced to ensure the safety of our visitors, staff, and volunteers as we comply with the latest NSW Public Health Orders.

Admission to Tweed Regional Museum is free, however bookings are essential.

Book your free visit to TRM Murwillumbah

TRM Murwillumbah is open for two sessions per day, Tuesday to Saturday:

  • 10am - 12:30pm
  • 1:30pm - 4pm

You can arrive at any time during your booked session, but must leave by 12:30pm in the case of morning session visitors, and 4pm for afternoon session visitors. The Museum will be closed for one hour between these sessions for cleaning.

Book your free visit to TRM Tweed Heads

TRM Tweed Heads will be open for two sessions per day on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays:

10am - 12:30pm

1:30pm - 4pm

You can arrive at any time during your booked session, but must leave by 12:30pm in the case of morning session visitors, and 4pm for afternoon session visitors. The Museum will be closed for one hour between these sessions for cleaning.

The Tweed Regional Museum (TRM) operates at three sites - Murwillumbah, Tweed Heads, and Uki.

These sites operate as one and complement one another while maintaining their own character and focus.

Admission to all Tweed Regional Museum branches is FREE.

Services and facilities

  • Public toilets are located within the Museum building.
  • The Museum contains a research library for public use.

Accessibility

  • Tweed Regional Museum Murwillumbah is fully wheelchair accessible into and inside the building
  • There is a platform lift to the mezzanine level
  • There is an accessible toilet
  • The on-site car park in Bent Street has one designated accessible parking space (DAPB) and two standard parking spaces. This car park has a slight gradient. People who use wheelchairs are able to use the DAPB from side or rear vehicle doors
  • There is a ramp leading from this car park to the front entrance of the Museum
  • Access to the front entrance, from Queensland Road, has stairs only or a sloping footpath corner up to the ramp entrance
  • All video content in the Museum has captioning
  • Loan wheelchairs are available from the Front Desk
  • The Museum offers Auslan interpreted tours of the exhibitions; see our Talks and Events page for more details

There are two public car parking spaces on site, and ample street parking in Queensland Road.

School and group bookings

Group bookings are currently limited to 20 people, in line with Public Health Orders.
